Avalon Icelandics and Farm We moved our operation to a small farm in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. Produce, eggs, and wool products are offered as available.

We breed Icelandic horses, and in partnership with Heidi Benson, of Saestadir Icelandics, offer some horse and rider training.

Thanks so much to my first Horse-Mom. My aunt Ange fostered my love of horses as a child, though we didnt live nearby. When I bought my first horse at age 40 (🙄) she helped me become a real horsewoman. It was an honor to organize a trip to Iceland this summer, including Landsmót, and have her come along. Many thanks to her. So many people shape us. 🥰

This read is well worth the time, especially if you are fairly new to the breed. Icelandic horses are very different for lots of reasons, but the actual science and data we have to predict character, conformation, and even performance is astonishing and unique.
