Incredible news for vegans in the southern tier!!

We are excited to announce our new location! It became official yesterday! We do not yet have a re-opening date, but know that there are re-opening celebrations in the works!

COMING SOON: Grandma's Kitchen Arnot Mall!

We look forward to joining the Arnot Mall community and bringing our events and food that "tastes like Grandma's, only vegan" to the area!

Our family LOVES malls! We lived in New Jersey for a number of years and fell in love with all of the fun we were able to have under one roof - Woodbridge Mall and American Dream being our favorite NJ Malls!

Follow along for updates as we convert the former Friendly's and Fanboys location into Grandma's Kitchen Arnot Mall! We will be right next to Jan Marie Bubble Tea in the Food Court. We will have a much larger seating capacity for events, there will now be parking available, and we should be able to offer delivery!

THANK YOU to Ryan at Ryan Keenan State Farm for getting us an insurance policy for our new location. Your speedy attention helped us to be able to sign the lease and finally start moving in the right direction! BBQ jackfruit and pineapple flatbread (sub vegan cheese) at in Olean, NY. Was pleasantly surprised with the vegan options at this brewery after visiting our alma mater. Slide to the next pic to see the BBQ jackfruit sandwich and the impossible burger. Both on a pretzel bun with vegan sauce. Oh yeah and the beer was good too.

Excellent excellent chikn sandwiches and pierogies. And the Cookie Monster cupcake (not pictured) was so big, we split it among the three of us and it was perfect. Will definite back next time we’re in buffalo!

🫐What is vegan blueberry picking? 🫐
It’s visiting to drop certified organic bluebs — kerplink kerplank kerplunk — in your lil bucket. It’s being surrounded by roosters, prayer flags, chatty pickers, kids at day camp and rescued farm animals. The lovely showed us around the place where many animals will live safely for the rest of their days. Karin explained that this year’s harvest like so many in the area was affected by the May frost. But regardless, picking was wonderful. We found big plump berries, some sweet, some tart, just maybe not on handfuls like previous years. Elly ate as much as we picked, which Karin encouraged from the start. On the farm, they are big proponents of feeding people. For that reason, blueberries are only $2 per pound (at least half the price of what you’ll find elsewhere). Tackling food insecurity, spreading peaceful vibes, giving animals a good life… I felt so full of love and berries when I left! Please make it out to — they expect one more week of berries!

This, my friends, is not just any blueberry soft serve. It is ice cream made from LOCAL, ORGANIC berries. Kim from the all-vegan Angelhearts Diner whipped up this sweet concoction using HillBerry blueberries (30 mins east) and Oatly. With just the right blend of bluebs and creaminess, this treat was so satisfying after berry picking in the hot sun (more on that later). We got tofu nuggets, fries, and a Philly cheesesteak too. I absolutely love vegan diner food… which means I should make the drive to ithaca more often, right? Plus, Kim has other blueberry goodies on the menu all week and next week as well!

The nature appreciation fair by made my heart sooooo happy!! This is what community and knowledge sharing looks like! We went on a plant walk with people of all kinds and ages and learned about plants that I often overlook. April and Bill helped us tap into the way plants talk to each other and use their surroundings to thrive… like how jewelweed grows with poison ivy or how knotweed (tho invasive) has sprung up in places with Lyme, a disease it can help treat. I couldn’t help but feel connected to everyone there, as we were students of the earth with amazing mentors. Top that experience off with great vendors like , who made the delectable sandwiches seen here — so yummy I wish they made more vegan food because they are so good at it (thank you)!! Chatted with and of course had to get some nature-inspired goodies from .cc. She made a tulsi-infused cookie! Mmm… anyway, today was a great day. 🍄All-vegan deliciousness from . The sausage gravy and biscuit is so so good. Elly and I just sat chillin’ as we caught a breeze on their deck. We loved coloring, and the kids plate of Mac n cheese and green beans is such a hit. 🍺 They also have a beer and wine menu, 🍷 along with a bevy of sweet treats. We took home a strawberry sprinkle cupcake 🧁 and a mint chocolate cupcake, along with a $1 lemon sugar cookie. They have a kindness wall, where people can buy items for others, and you can cash in one of the coupons whenever you need! 💗Their specials are amazing right now (see the third pic) so check it out right in rt 14 in the way to the glen. 🌿

Omg

Look who just got an ice cream maker and now has ice cream sandwiches for Friday! We have chocolate chip ones with sprinkles and may have lavender ones as well! Open Friday from 10:30-1:30 for Grab & Go Lunches and 4-8pm for dinner! Also open on Saturday from 10am-3pm. Next week, we will only be open for dinner on Thursday. We will be closed for a catering event on Friday and Saturday.

Yeah a vegan at “The Dairy Barn”… 🤷‍♀️ But this place has non-dairy options too! We were allll about this strawberry twist Dole whip — and this time I managed to take a pre-lick photo! The pic was a team effort as I was nursing a newborn in the front set, juggling our cones and pete was helping a toddler into the car. Check out Elly’s mango sorbet — so good she had to have a lesson in “sharing.” The Dairy Barn has three sorbet flavors: mango, strawberry and raspberry. We will def be back to try them all 😜. Apparently y’all already know about The Lilly Pad Ice Cream Shop on the South Side because they told me they’ve had quite a few vegans stop by! Love a vegan-friendly ice cream joint that knows which cones are vegan and has more than one dairy-free flavor. They have the Hershey’s Oatmazing brand — chocolate chunk seen here. Sorry I forgot to get an ✨aesthetic photo before I had to lick to save this cone from the 86-degree sun ☀️

🚨ALL VEGAN 🚨
Maybe you’ve found it odd that I haven’t been to the all-vegan restaurant that’s right up route 14 from me… but it’s their opening week and I’m committed to going ALL the time now. Elly and I visited Grandma's Kitchen Montour Falls for the first time today and were so glad we did. The people are amazing, the food is top notch comfort, and it’s kid friendly! Here you see the sausage & gravy biscuit platter and the kids’ plate with Mac n cheese and green beans. We both were loving life and sitting outside on this sunny albeit windy day. Opening day at The Great Escape Ice Cream Parlor under new ownership 😍 Anyone else crave ice cream when it’s thunder storming and blowing gusts?? Bad news is we haven’t had power for hours. Good news is that The Great Escape is back for the season and is serving up handmade ice creams, including a mango sorbet and mint chocolate chip! They’ll be offering a wider vegan selection as the season progresses. So yummy and the perfect way to cap off this weirdo day.

Have y’all ever been to on Corning’s Market Street? It’s full of gourmet treats, great for gifting to the foodie (me) in your life. I did some holiday shopping here in December (teas, hot sauce, chutneys) and finally got around to trying this masala sauce last night. I was super surprised when my toddler asked for more of it on her tofu! I added one drop of Last Dab into my bowl because I’m silly like that. This jar of was tasty with our veggies, tofu, and rice! Nice weeknight meal.
Anyway, go check out because she carries a lot of vegan and allergy-friendly food products, along with other fun gifts.

My little girl is two!! To celebrate, .cc baked us some 🧁🧁🧁 this one is vanilla chocolate. Mmmmm. The frosting is unlike anything you can make yourself :) We also got pb&j cupcakes too. Highly recommend! Vanessa is the queen of cupcake innovation 👩‍🍳 I’ll post one in my stories.
