Empire Produce will be opening soon bringing fresh produce, primarily from our garden. Most other stands buy their vegetables from commercial warehouses and large scale auctions without knowing the true origin of their products or the practices used in growing it. The whole purpose in buying from a stand rather than a grocery store is to get a healthier and fresher product, if they buy from commercial sources, they can't really say how fresh or healthy their products are. The next time you go to a produce stand ask where it was grown, what day it was picked and if pesticides or insecticides were used. We are not a true organic farm, but we use no pesticides or insecticides on our crops at any time. To provide a selection of things not grown on our farm, we also offer fruits and vegetables from other growers, these are labeled that they are not from our farm and information of origin and growing practices are available. Eat healthy, know where your food comes from and how it is grown. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you soon when our stand opens. For those of you who are interested in bulk produce to can or freeze, we offer 1/2 bushel and full bushels by special order, give us a call and we will let you know about availability and prices.
