Tis' the season of annual prevention in the rabbitry!

If you aren't aware, I treat (to prevent) coccidia, worms, and mites annually.
I do this around fall and around spring time.
Since I have started doing this, I have had zero issues with any of these things in my herd!

During season changes mites, worms and coccidia will FLOURISH if given the opportunity.
To avoid this altogether, I treat every single rabbit in my herd thats on solids (usually starting at 4-6wks old) and make sure to keep their everything clean. (Coccidia in particular will thrive in nasty environments... especially when it's humid!)

HOW I DOSE/PREVENT...

MITES (fur and ear):
•IVERMECTIN 1% INJECTABLE/STERILE SOLUTION•
-DOSING- Apply TOPICALLY!
(DO NOT GIVE ORALLY OR INJECT!)
Part their hair first; apply 1 small drop (using the needle/syringe) to the back of their neck and to the base of each ear (not inside unless you are actively TREATING ear mites).

COCCIDIA:
•TOLTRAMAX 5% STRENGTH ALFALFA FLAVOR (tolturazil)•
-DOSING- Give ORALLY!
(USE A 1ML SYRINGE TO DOSE/ADMINISTER PRECISELY)
For PREVENTION dose at 0.2ml/lb. (This will vary depending on the strength! This is for 5% only!)

WORMS:
•SAFE-GUARD LIQUID GOAT DEWORMER 10% (fenbendazole)•
-DOSING- Give ORALLY!
(USE A 1 ML SYRINGE!)
For PREVENTION dose at 0.1ml/lb.

**NOTE: the doses above are for PREVENTION, not treatment. Treatments will vary.**

I also make sure to give everyone a dab of Bene-Bac probiotic about 30 minutes after they receive the medications.
This ensures that their guts remain healthy/balanced!

Going through my herd this week/next-
I am going to be downsizing (foxes and hollands) a ton over the next month or so! I need to shorten up the routine for winter and school.
Everything will be reasonable 🥕 for what they are.
Will be posting them in my group as I go, but feel free to message me if you're looking for something specific/for first dibs.
Lots growing out currently/on litters, so not everything will be RTG immediately.

📍Charlevoix County MI.
Willing to work with transport.

*P.S. I have jumbo coturnix quail as well: eggs (eating and hatching), unsexed chicks, laying hens, breeding groups, roos, etc*
