I don’t know if I have posted or not… but I have liquidated my herd due to my health going down hill to the point I was no longer able to properly care for them. It took a lot of time to process because I took pride in my breeding etc… but I am so glad that I found excellent people to buy them and I get to see them often. (Something important to me.) thank you all for all the love and support and especially my mentors: Laurie Homer, Laura Workman, Bad Alabi goats, Diona Schilling and Bailey Schilling. Y’all are the best!!!

Domino kidded this am. Left to right girl, boy, boy. Girl is retained, two bucklings are up for consideration. We are picky about our bucks so waiting to see if these boys are buck quality or will be sold as wethers. If they are buck quality they are 4th generation and starred. Pm for details.

So so so excited to announce that nova and domino are gearing up to kid. They are both amazing mothers and their udders are coming in really nicely. Just a day or two more to go.

Nova: these are purebred miniature lamancha’s from two very milky lines. We are so excited to have purebreds. We are retaining a doeling from nova and second doeling or bucks will be sold. Pm for reserve details.

Domino: both doelings resevered any additional will be up for consideration. (Happy to take waiting lists for doelings if reserves fall through.) Bucks are 4th Generation starred and we are taking reserves on them. This is a really nice line breeding to Glimmercroft braemar. (Grand dad to grand daughter.) dominos mom milked 9.2 on her peak milk test as a ff. She is my favorite girl to milk. She has huge orifiaces and big comfortable teats to hang onto.

So excited to announce that lil’ Bitz n’ pieces AT domino *2 is pregant with quads. Her first freshening total poundage was 1,045 pounds. (Domino’s mom Diamond L goats BR Pirates Cove was on all 3 of the 2021 MDGA top 10 lists as a ff. First freshening total poundage was 1,547, second freshening 921 pounds and 3rd freshening still producing at 1170 at 181 days.) I expect domino to place on the top 10 list this year comparing to last year. We are really excited about this breeding. Domino is bred back to her grandfather who has generations of awesome milking animals behind him. Babies are 4th generation and starred. First doeling is resevered, second doeling is resevered third doeling is resevered and fourth doeling is open for reservation. All starred bucklings will be open for reservations. (I am picky about my bucks so there may be limited bucklings if boys don’t meet my standard.) You don’t want to miss this opportunity. Due date: April 24th

Also excited to announce that Diamond L goats JH Blue Nova *1 is also pregant with 3 purebred kids. These are the first purebred kids that we will have. (First lactation Nova gave 1,258 pounds. Second lactation she gave 1026 pounds short lactation, and third lactation she gave 852 pounds. Dried off early at 178 days as I am selling her bred and since our top concern is healthy girls and kids, I like to give them a little break to recoup before breeding.) first doe is retained, second doe is possibly retained, third doe is up for consideration and we will asses bucks but reserves will be held on them. Sires dam was very milky. Due date: first of May.

So excited!!! I have my first 2* coves first doeling did an amazing 1,045 pounds of milk in her 9 month lactation… she is such a good girl!!! My favorite doe to date. Although I love all of the goats we’ve had/have… she is bred and will hopefully be confirmed bred on the 17th of this month. Have a reservation for a doeling accepting bucklings reservations for 2024.

Well, the girls are doing well. We just set up a mineral buffet and we are working on wrapping up breeding season. Hope to have domino bred this time. Prego check is the 17th. If she took she will have babies the end of April. Hoping for amazing doelings from her. We have one resevered doeling up for consideration on a second. If she took and gives bucks we should have a very nice buckling available. Cove is playing with extended lactation and is giving a very faithful 2.13 pounds… this year has been a hard year so I’m debating weather I’m going to breed the yearlings or not. If I do, they will be bred in March for mid to late summer kids. I’m thinking I just might wait until next year and take a year off of heavy milking… guess we’ll see what happens when we get closer to that time. Mineral buffet video included… I think it’s a hit. Ha ha…

Well after a slight hiccup with domino, that set us back breeding 2 months, she is heading to the breeder the 20th. We look forward to seeing what babies we get. Hope to be able to make a pregnancy announcement soon.

So, I was so excited hoping to be able to post a pregnancy update, but unfortunatley, we had a negative pregnancy test on domino. It looks like she has a bubble in her uterus. Sometimes they just develop other times they are results from pregancy that the fetus dies and is absorbed. Either way, they need help clearing them and they don’t come into heat while they have one. We have helped her to abort it and hope to be able to make a pregancy announcement in the next couple of months. Thank you all for your patience. When she is bred, the babies will be very very nice babies. I have a reseve on the first doeling and the rest will be up for consideration. Nova has been sold to a wonderful family, and Cove is getting a well deserved year off.

Nothing so satisfying as sitting here eating homemade squeaky cheese (cheese curds). Yep, breeding the animals that produce the milk, that we milked and grew the culture to make the cheese… so very rewarding!!!

It’s that time again… milk tests are in for July… cove milked 9.85 pounds, (kidded 19th of June) nova did 6.3 pounds (kidded 22nd of June) and domino (kidding 7th of feb. As a ff.) did 3.85 pounds. (She is such a good little ff. Very consistent, mid dairy look (slim but hip bones not poking out.) and my favorite to milk out of my girls. She has huge orifiaces whigh is awesome but she milks out so fast… I don’t really get to enjoy milking her. All of my girls are doing amazing!! So blessed with each one!

Wooo hoooo!! Just got girls latest milk test back. I am very pleased with all of their results. Domino is showing very good prospect of being an extended lactation doe considering she’s been in milk for 6 months. (Really can’t believe it’s been that long…) She will be bred this fall and extended lactationed next year as a second freshener. Cove is doing phenomenally at 8.8 pounds 2 1/2 weeks Fresh. (Sorry it’s more like a month now, but I haven’t weighed any of the girls since my last test. Next test due around the 21st.) Nova isn’t doing too shabby herself beings that she’s at 6.8 pounds…. I have a doeling who is up for consideration from Nova. She’s a cute little 4 th gen. Will be double registered.
