The new chickens are finally old enough to enjoy their new chicken tractor!

And yes… we’ve officially hatched some Lavender chickens!
Because what is a lavender farm without lavender CHICKENS, of course!

They’re loving their new little home and all the fresh grass. We can’t wait to watch these little fluff balls grow!

How do you know when lavender is ready to harvest for hydrosol?

One of the easiest ways to tell is to watch the bees!

When the flowers have mostly finished blooming, the color starts to fade, the flowers begin to die back, and the bees are no longer buzzing around the plants, it’s time to start thinking about harvest.

This is the stage we look for when harvesting lavender for our hydrosol at Lavender Dawn Farms.
