God Is Great, And People Are Crazy
If you are more than an hour old you have probably noticed how most people are never happy. It doesn’t matter what it is, someone will find a major issue with most anything.
Let me give you some examples. I will get numerous remarks about how some people love that I ride some horses bridleless. I also get people that won't watch because they think its foolish. A lady last week said she was unfollowing my page because I made a reel and the horse had a bit in its mouth. Either way people get upset.
And of course the old spur debate rears up. You are horrible if you use spurs! But yet they dont understand how I use them, which is basically never if used correctly. And they don’t want to know either.
I was asked recently why I dont sell horses much. This is a great question, and my answer.
Because there is no upside to it. Many people blame sellers for misrepresenting horses, which does happen. But what we don’t talk enough about is buyers misrepresenting themselves. Many will say, I am looking for this or that, I've done all this, I can handle that horse. Can you? Should you?
What irritates me is when people buy a really nice horse, then mess with its head by doing things totally different than what it took to teach that horse how to be nice. Then after a couple of weeks, we blame the seller for "drugging" the horse and then ruin their reputation by slandering their name. Im not saying drugging hasn't been done, it has, but in this day and age, do your research.
Let's remember this, a horse is a mirror of what is inside of you. Watch a person ride a horse for awhile, by and large, an anxious person will always ride anxious horses. A calm person will make calm horses. A confident person rides confident horses. See the correlation?
So, lets all just slow down and breathe, and remember that we are all on a journey in life. We are all doing the best we can with the knowledge we have at the time.
