Well… looks like I’m on to plan B. This is the restaurant where I process my smoked salt every Monday, and I only learned about the fire through TikTok. I know the owner is dealing with a huge loss himself, but this affects me too.

I was supposed to be there today to smoke a new batch and restock, so thankfully I have some reserve product ready. I still don’t know whether my supplies, smoker, or smoke shed survived. I need to get that information so I can reach out to my insurance and start a claim if necessary.

Davis NW Smokehouse, a soul food restaurant in Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood, was severely damaged in a fire that broke out early Saturday morning. The Eugene Police Department is now investigating the fire as suspected arson.
