It is with great excitement that Frontier Guardians announces the acquisition of our new Sharplaninatz Shepherd sire; Avarga Gazi Baba Volcanoes. Avarga means "Champion" in the Mongolian language. He was named this because he has many Champions, even World Champions in his blood line. He is doing great here on the farm in Montana, and we want to thank Deniz Selim for providing us with such a great Sharplaninatz. A big thanks to Lariata Mecham for helping to get him home as well; it was a long trip from Macedonia to Montana!

First, I want to share my condolences with this family that lost their LGD. I don't know them, but I am sure they are having a rough time. Secondly, I wanted to share this article with all our clients so that the severity of "guarding" in the North Western USA and Canada can be understood by all. We are asking our dogs to stand against one of the most powerful predators on the planet, and because of that Frontier Guardians is breeding dogs that we believe can do the job better than most. Both the Sharplaninatz & Caucasian Shepherds have proven histories against wolves - but one dog against a pack is never a good plan. It would have to be one of the toughest dogs in the world to stand. I have seen videos of such dogs, but how unusual are they??? If you have wolves in your area, really consider the need for multiple dogs at the very least a team of very strong dogs. As a breeder we also face a tremendous challenge - breeding dogs that are good with your family, able to be socialized, and still tough enough to stand against a wolf!! That is a tall order, but we are working to do our best. If you have wolves, plan accordingly. Buy dogs that are up to the task, and back them up with good partners. NONE of us want to wake up to this type of tragedy.

Many times we have said how great it would be if we could just freeze time and keep them so cute and cuddly. These Sharplaninatz Shepherd pups are silky as a mink and fun to snuggle. They will be getting their full portraits done soon, so we will have lots of pics to share in the coming weeks.
