Immanuel's marketplace has two distinct differences from other markets happening in the area. First, the focus is on farmers! We emphasize the sale of locally grown greens, produce, meats, and cheeses. This helps producers create a revenue stream in an otherwise bleak season. Most importantly, this market has community at the center. The congregation works hard to welcome shoppers and create a spa
ce with positive energy. A peace tree is available for shoppers to add their prayer requests and the sanctuary is open for personal reflection. The funds gathered from grower fees, sale of note cards, etc. are donated to local and international hunger relief agencies. Last year a total of $6,000 was distributed among Curt's Cafe South, Interfaith Action of Evanston, Hillside Food Pantry, Lutheran World Hunger, Soup at Six, Mary Lou's Place - Evanston North Shore YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter. Your purchases at the market bring the vendors back each week, which allows for the distribution of gifts. Shopping here actively benefits the community!
