Today, for #GivingTuesday, help us raise funds for a new tractor! Our current tractor, bought used 17 years ago, is ready for retirement. Through the years it has helped us to donate 20% of our weekly harvest to 12 local food banks, homeless shelters, church pantries, and other areas needing a little more love. In 2021 alone, we donated over 8000 lbs. to those in need in our community. Join us in continuing our mission on this #DayofGiving

Leaves, leaves and more leaves!!

Composting leaves is a terrific way to recycle and create a nutrient rich soil amendment at the same time. The benefits of leaf compost are numerous. The compost increases the porosity of the soil, raises the fertility, diminishes the strain on landfills, and creates a living “blanket” over your plants.
Please consider bringing your leaves to the farm for composting! All leaves can be left at the compost pile behind the greenhouse.

Service Sunday: Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Food Drive for St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in January. Because of our mission-minded associates and community partner, Seton Harvest, we were able to donate four times our goal!
SAVE THE DATE!! March 14th, we will be giving 10% of our total sales for that day to Seton Harvest! Seton Harvest is a community-supported agriculture initiative sponsored by the Daughters of Charity Province of St. Louise. The certified Naturally Grown farm uses the land in a just and environmentally conscious way by sharing locally grown food with shareholders and persons who are financially poor and hungry in our community.
Dehydrating a tray of left sungold tomatoes into ‘faux sun-dried tomatoes’ that will eventually go into some olive oil after they’re dehydrated.
Fresh Lettuce courtesy of Seton Harvest! If you have never heard of them I recommend you check their website. They donate a portion of their crops every year to local non profit soup kitchens and food pantries. We will use these 4 crates of lettuce in our lunches the rest of this week. :) Thank you Seton Harvest!
I left a message on the Seton Harvest phone today. I have 4 bags of mulched leaves on the sidewalk by the mailbox if someone wants to come pick them up. Same address as last year.
Two weeks ago we shared info about the community produce giveaway hosted by All Saints Parish Evansville, Purdue Extension - Vanderburgh County& Seton Harvest. Here are some amazing photos from the event! This is just one of many examples of how our community is coming together this summer to support each other! Reminder: their next produce giveaway is August 9th.
