For over 11 years, I lived in a "dry cabin", which means no indoor plumbing or running water. I ported my water, took PTA baths in a Rubbermaid bucket or showers at the Laundromat. Living what some call the dream in Alaska, I tended to wallow between dream and nightmare, more nightmare at the end of my stay. Now, I have moved on. Officially an ex-pat Alaskan, living in the midwest. When asked what I was renaming the blog, the answer was simple. You can take the girl out of the cabin, but you can't take the cabin out of the girl. I will always be The Cabin Goddess, but now I have running water, a wonderful family to live with and am in the middle of everything! I am still reading books, reviewing and writing recipes. I still love bacon, and olives and zombies! My crafting, my photography, my writing and a few of my daily antics will be shared once again. What started off as a challenge to blog via my iPhone has become an iconic blog that even a hiatus of 15 months didn't kill. Welcome to my world!

Be it humor, poems, tales of wanderlust, her heart is pure Alaskan and her pocket is always full of snowflakes.
