Two lasts in one day. 🥹

Today we made our last flat grazing table and our last raised graze here in Washington.

And naturally, the final raised graze came with a little plot twist. 😂

I realized I had left my storage unit keys in my car… which was sitting at the shop… over an hour away. 🙃

So I called my client and said, “We have to pivot.”

And she said, “I have some boards!!”

So we did what we do best — we improvised, got creative, and made something beautiful with what we had.

And honestly? I think this gorgeous table was the perfect ending.

Two lasts. One plot twist. And one more reminder that sometimes the best things happen when the original plan goes completely out the window. 🤍

I’ve been counting the months, then the weeks, until I leave Washington for my new home in North Carolina.

And now, the lasts are here.

Two nights ago, friends left my home and I realized I won’t see them again before I go. And suddenly, I’m feeling all of it—the sadness of leaving, the gratitude for what has been, and the excitement for what’s next.

Bittersweet is learning to hold two truths at once.

So today feels a little extra special. This is my last flat graze in Washington. One more beautiful spread before I turn the page.

I’m going to miss this place.
And I’m so ready for what comes next. ❤️

Okay, so these Salted Caramel Butter Bars are one of my top-selling desserts.

And they absolutely should be… because they are divine. Homemade sea salt caramel + buttery shortbread = 🤤

The problem? They’re kind of boring in photos. 😂

A little September update 🤍

I won’t be taking any new orders after September 1st.

I’m facing a few health challenges, but more than anything, I want to slow down enough to see the people I love, visit the places I’ll miss dearly, and soak up a little more of this chapter before I go.

Let’s call September Shirah’s version of taking it easy… because apparently moving a business, a home, and two cats across the country and squeezing in a family visit in Boise is my idea of relaxing. 😂

After much thought, reflection, and more than a few tears, I’ve made the decision to move to North Carolina at the end of September.

This wasn’t an easy choice. Washington has been home, and this community has supported Herb & Grain in ways I could have never imagined. You’ve trusted me with your weddings, birthdays, baby showers, corporate events, and so many of life’s meaningful moments. Thank you for allowing me to create for you and be a small part of your stories.

This move is about more than changing my address. It’s about creating space for the next season of my life—one with more creativity, more connection, and more room to grow. Herb & Grain isn’t ending… it’s simply beginning a new chapter.
