Good morning from The Mustard Seed Hen House! 🌻🐔☕

Around here, life is a little bit of everything—fresh eggs, homemade food, chickens underfoot, flour on the counter, faith in our hearts, and plenty of real-life messes in between. 😂❤️

As our little Mustard Seed continues to grow, I want this page to be a place where we share more of that everyday life with you—recipes, homestead happenings, simple tips for the home, things I'm loving and using, faith, family, and of course ALL the chicken shenanigans. 🐔😂

Because sometimes the smallest things—a mustard seed, a simple meal, a cleaner home, or a little kindness—can make a pretty big difference. 🌻

🐔🌻 Meet Some of the Girls at The Mustard Seed Hen House! 🌻🐔

There's never a dull moment around here! 😂

Meet Lita Ford, who clearly believes the camera was invented specifically for her. 📸😂

Then we have Watch & Pillow, two of the girls named by our granddaughter Wednesday. Judging by this picture, I'm pretty sure they had something VERY important to tell me. 🤣

And then there's Ethel, keeping a close eye on everything happening in her Hen House. ❤️

They each have their own little personalities, and I swear I could sit out there and watch their antics all day.

Sometimes the sweetest blessings really are found in the simplest things—sunshine, fresh eggs, a little dirt, and a whole lot of chickens. 🐔🌻💛

🌻🐔 Happy Friday from The Mustard Seed Hen House!🐔🌻

There’s just something about a morning at the Hen House—the chickens are busy doing chicken things 😂, the coffee is hot, and I’m reminded how thankful I am for this little life God has given us. ❤️

It may not always be quiet, it may not always be tidy, and there are usually feathers somewhere they don't belong 😂… but I wouldn't trade it.

Some mornings begin with coffee on the porch. Some begin feeding chickens. And some begin sitting at the dealership waiting on a truck. 😄

No matter where your morning finds you, remember this...

He goes before us in the ordinary moments just as much as the extraordinary ones. While we wait, He is working.

🐔🌻 A Little Update from the Hen House 🌻🐔
The girls are settling into their new home!
The babies have now spent several days in the new coop, and the older hens are getting used to having little ones around. They're mostly just curious, while the babies still think they should run every time one of the "big girls" walks by. 😊
After all the planning, building, and waiting, it's such a blessing to watch everything slowly come together.
Sometimes that's how God works in our lives too. We pray, we work, we wait... and then one day we look around and realize He's been putting all the pieces together all along.

🌱 Today I'm thankful for healthy chickens, fresh eggs, gentle rain, and God's faithfulness every step of the way.

🐔 Wednesday at The Mustard Seed Hen House🌻
This morning brought a smile to my heart.
After their very first night together in the new coop, I walked out in the pouring rain to check on everyone. The babies were happily running around, the older hens were getting along with them, Ethel had settled into one of the little houses, and three fresh eggs were waiting in the nesting boxes.
There are still a few finishing touches to do, a larger tarp and a back wall to keep out the blowing rain, but today reminded me that God often blesses us even while the work is still unfinished.
Isn't that true of our lives too?
We sometimes think everything has to be perfect before we can enjoy it. But God teaches us to find joy in the journey. He blesses us in the middle of the building, the growing, the waiting, and the trusting.
Today, I'm thankful for fresh eggs, curious little chicks, a husband who's working hard to finish the coop, and a God who is faithful through every season.

Good morning from the Mustard Seed Hen House! This Morning we added the Big Girls to the coop! And of Course Bandit had to come in and make sure they all behaved!

🐔❤️ A BIG milestone at The Mustard Seed Hen House!❤️🐔
After weeks of planning, building, problem-solving, and a few rain delays... our new chicken run is finally coming together!

Yesterday, all 17 of our younger girls moved into their new home. Today, I finished setting up the nesting boxes and added fresh bedding. They are already scratching around, exploring, and making themselves at home.

Tomorrow we'll begin introducing a few of the older girls and let everyone slowly get to know each other. Prayers appreciated that everyone gets along! 😊

It's not completely finished yet, and there are still improvements we'd like to make over time, but seeing these girls enjoying the coop that Mark and I built together with a bit of help from our Son Ryan Gardner (he helped build the frame), Makayla Mae Tracy (she helped put together the the houses) and Lori N Ron Thrasher (donated the blocks to put around the outside) it makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Sometimes the best things in life aren't built in a day...
They're built with faith, patience, and a whole lot of love.
