Really excited to join Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue as a part of Dog Fest next Sunday!

We have to leave our pups at home because they don’t have their food-handler certificates to work in the kitchen but you should definitely bring your fur babies out for the day.

See you from Noon-4pm.

Tara na sa kanto!

Nook stopped by Kanto Grill during the UAF Food Truck Rally today! 🐻‍❄️💙💛 He came to see what we were grilling… but seemed a little disappointed to learn we didn’t have any seal on the menu. 🦭😂

Thanks for stopping by, Nook! 🔥🇵🇭

We thought the weather would keep folks away and we’d have some time to do some social media stuff….NOPE!

SOLD OUT!

Undershot the load-in of everything:

Skewers—gone
Adobo—gone
Pancit—gone
Lumpia—of course it’s gone!
Dirty dishes—still here :-(

Great day to support Nanook Volleyball.

Amazing community.

If you like it, tell others. If you don’t like it, please tell us!

We’re all set up and *almost* open.

Come see us today at the Patty Center on UAF.

But from a vendor, get free entry to all the volleyball games today.

People have asked for a way to get some spicy spicy on their Kanto Grill…well, we made our own little sinamak (spicy vinegar)… 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️

There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes before we ever fire up the grill. 🔥

As we grow Kanto Grill, we’re learning just how much goes into being an event food vendor - Dec food permits, insurance, fire inspections, paperwork… and plenty of checklists. 😅 It’s all part of building this little business and we’re pretty proud of each new box we get to check.

Today we added another one: UAF approved! 🙌

We’re excited to be part of the Alaska Nanooks Food Truck Rally on September 5. See you there! 🇵🇭🔥

Still 3 weeks until our next Kanto Grill pop-up… but you’ve been asking, so we’re already working on what’s next. 👀🔥 We’re starting to build out the next stage of Kanto Grill: catering!

With catering, we’ll have more flexibility to offer dishes beyond our usual pop-up menu. What would you actually want to order? Lumpia trays? Pancit? Adobo? Vegetarian options? BBQ? Other Filipino favorites? 🇵🇭

Drop your ideas in the comments - we want to know what should make the menu! 👇

🔥 Next stop: Alaska Nanooks Food Truck Rally!

Kanto Grill will be back out Saturday, September 5 at UAF!

Since we’re a pop-up, we’re not set up all the time , so this is your next chance to catch us and grab some Kanto Grill. 🍢

We’re also always working on new recipes and making little updates along the way, so follow our journey and see what we’re cooking up next!

Go Nooks! 💙💛
