Our little frizzle just wants to be a mama! She’s adopted everyone’s eggs and is patiently waiting for them to hatch. Unfortunately, without a rooster it won’t happen. Sorry, sweet girl.

Did you know that the grocery store eggs that are branded as “cage free” are not laid by hens that are truly cage free? Hens that have acesss to the ground (versus a cage) can be labeled as cage free hens. Also, according to the USDA, cage free hens do not have to have access to the outdoors.

Not only do our girls have a huge coop and run, they have daily access to free range on over an acre of land. The result is healthy, happy hens and beautiful, tasty eggs!
