There will be an in-person Chapter & Stakeholders meeting on October 17, 2025 from 8:30am to 2:30pm. See the flyer for details on the location and how to register. There will be some great speakers and Vendors present, and lunch is sponsored by AgWest. If you cannot attend due to location, you can still participate via zoom. Risch Names Soldier Mountain Highlands and Huns as the November Small Business of the Month

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Jim Risch, senior member and former chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, announced the selection of Soldier Mountain Highlands and Huns in Fairfield as the Idaho Small Business of the Month for November 2024. SMH Ranch will be recognized for its contribution to Idaho in the Congressional Record of the U.S. Senate.

“Dennis Stitt founded Soldier Mountain Highlands and Huns, a 120-acre Scottish Highland cattle ranch at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains, to promote a healthy lifestyle and preserve the heritage of small farmers and ranchers,” said Risch. “Through his work, Dennis is feeding the world one steak at a time and mentoring fellow veterans interested in agriculture.”

Finally getting the lower fields seeded with a grass mix that will provide good nutrition for the highlands, as well as, build better soil biodiversity. It will take a couple years, to really see the results, but all good things take time.
