Still waiting to hear if there’s any recommendations from vets to better maintain him or help his recovery.

But at this point following my gut and going to see how Leif does with PT over the next few weeks and putting him back to pasture.

He’s young and healthy - so hoping he’ll bounce back well.
May take some extra maintenance to keep his stifles healthy throughout his lifetime - but I’ve never been afraid of work.
And he’s worth it.
I mean just look at him - how could he not be? 🥹🖤

A kick to the worst possible spot has Leif out of commission (hopefully temporarily 🙏🏼)
Keeping him quiet over the next few days until he can get x rays and ultrasound of his stifle is going to be difficult…

On antibiotics and pain meds to get us through the weekend.
Have had multiple wonderful vets give their support and guidance.
And am so thankful for their honest communication and watching all of the many videos 🤍

Praying it is not as bad as we are fearing with possible torn ligaments 😢

With this said - you can’t bubble wrap horses.
I refuse to be the person who sacrifices their horse’s mental health to avoid the possibility of them ever getting hurt.
You can’t live your own life based on fear of random fluke accidents, so you can’t expect your horse to live that way either.
You do what you can to be responsible, but at some point life just throws random curve balls and you get to be the unlucky one that gets hit by it.

We were happy to volunteer with the PA Sheep & Wool Growers Association this weekend!

Helped manage/educate for snuggling some sweet Valais blacknose sheep and did peg looming demonstration today 🐑

So many great people and interest 🤗
