‘Having the time of my life’ would be a gross understatement. I’ve already been brought to bouts of shouting and tears and silence by the food. I’ve learned a ton. I’ve been shown greatness and loving hospitality and wines that I only dreamed of having. My brain is broken from trying to keep up with the Italian—I speak it but not even close to native speed—but I’m hanging in there and learning new phrases and cusses. My palate is being continually energized with things I’ve never tasted. this trip even forced me start writing again (substack link on stories and my personal bio). Italy, you’re slaying me again.

I got plenty more where this came from. Stay tuned.

We’re looking for a passionate, fun, flexible person to join our team! 🍷

Working at Crunchy Red Fruit in Fall City feels a little like going to summer camp. We’ve got the friendliest regulars, a beautiful little shop, and the chance to learn alongside a Master Sommelier in a mountain town just 30 minutes east of Seattle.

Part-time hours, mostly Fridays + Saturdays, with lots of opportunities for extra shifts and events.

What we’re looking for:• Customer-facing shop support• Wine club support (packing boxes, organizing shipments, etc.)• Someone passionate about wine, hospitality, and community

We love curious people who are excited to learn.

Friday May 15th, 3-6 pm at Crunchy Red Fruit in Fall City

Join us Friday 3-6 pm for a tasting of Txakolina wines and Pintxos!

We will be joined by Joseba Lazkano, winemaker of in the Basque Country’s Txakolina region. Gaintza wines have featured in Crunchy Red Fruit club before, and we’re thrilled to have them here to pour and tell stories about their family winery.

Time: We will have bottles open starting at 3 pm–budget yourself about an hour to taste slow, or 30 minutes to taste quickly. If you come towards the end that’s ok, but we do close at 6 pm so bear that in mind.

Cost: $20 per person covers your tasting and snacks. Crunchy Red Fruit club members taste for free (please RSVP to [email protected] if you’re coming, it helps us plan for snacks )

Membership includes two tastings per household so you can bring your significant other or a friend. Members also get 15% off all wine purchases from this tasting, and the shop.

We’re always so happy to see your faces. Thanks for making the drive from Seattle — or wherever you’re coming from — to spend time with us out here in the valley.

We promise to make it worth the trip. The wine helps, but honestly the people, the community, and the nature are a pretty big part of it too.

Thanks so much to Jennie for sharing these photos and carving time out of your weekend for trees, mountains, and good wine with us. We love getting to show people why we care so much about this little corner of the world. 🌲 ⛰️ 🍷
