Pioneer Farm is conveniently located in Fancy Gap VA, next to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Interstate 77 and Highway 52. We run an all natural forage based meat and poultry farm. We direct market beef, poultry and pork products right off the farm. Delivery is available for a small fee within a reasonable distance from the farm. We offer fresh and frozen products. We try to maintain some frozen inventor
y on our poultry with the exception of turkeys. Turkeys are sold as FRESH ONLY unless you desire a smaller bird which will need to be harvested at an earlier date and frozen. Any animal needing antibiotics to remedy a sickness or ailment are removed from the program and marketed through conventional outlets. We try our best to produce a healthy, wholesome product for our customers. We think highly of our "critters" as well and would not sacrifice their well being just to maintain "all natural" status. Our beef is pasture raised from birth until slaughter. They are not put in a barn and fed only grain, they are allowed to graze as much as they want. They will still carry a yellow-ish colored fat from the grass-fed period, but will have the marbling and tenderness that come with conventional finishing methods to achieve a top quality steak or roast for your table. We DRY age our beef for a minmum of 21 days to ensure a tender and flavorful piece of meat. Our ground beef is 85%/15%, and our beef patties are as close to 1/4 lb each as we can get them. Our steaks are 1" thick and roasts are around 2.5-3lbs each. All of our beef is 100% USDA Inspected. (Tongues, hearts, etc are available but will require preordering to assure we keep those for you.)
