Today was the first real day of beautiful weather to enjoy with the boys, and with that I decided it is time we tackle the apple situation.

When we moved in, I had this sweet picture in my head of a long apple-picking season.

What I didn’t realize?
They all drop. At once. About halfway through September there was one week they all just fell and that was it! 😅

And I didn’t keep up with it. I honestly thought by spring they’d mostly compost themselves and disappear.

They did not.

Apple carcasses everywhere.
(And don’t even get me started on the black walnuts 😬 that’s a whole other chore waiting for us.)

But today, the boys and I went out and started cleaning them up. (Honestly it was mostly me of course, but they loved grunting and push/pulling the cart 🥰) We still have some more work to do, but we got a few cart loads into what I’m hoping to be thr start of a new compost pile. While we worked, I kept thinking about how this tree might be nearly 100 years old.
Our elderly neighbor told us his aunt planted it when she lived on this farm.

And here we are, gathering fruit beneath it with our boys.

It made me think about the long haul.

This land isn’t about quick results.
It’s not about one perfect harvest.
It’s about tending what’s been handed to us… and our family stewarding it for perhaps the next hundred years.

Some seasons are going to be messy.
Some fruit drops all at once.
Some lessons come sticky and humbling.

But this is the life I’m so excited to start.

And having my boys beside me — even at their young ages — feels like we’re already building something bigger than today’s chore list. We’re learning and building habits and responsibility. Maybe even a new legacy?
I’m in it for the long haul 🌳

Thank you for supporting a local stay at home mom-run business!

08/02/2026

I just want to pause for a moment and say thank you.
To every single person who has supported this little business—by ordering, sharing a post, encouraging me, or simply believing in me—I am so deeply grateful.

This started as a step of faith, and I truly believe God has been guiding each part of it. Every order, every kind word, every opportunity to bake for your families has felt like a reminder that He provides in ways both big and small.

Being trusted to bake for your homes is something I don’t take lightly. I pray over this work, my kitchen, and the people it reaches, and I’m incredibly thankful for every step in the learning process! I get to do this for my family at a pace that feels natural and feels fulfilling! This is the beginning of something deeply meaningful to me as we build roots in this community, In our home, and on this land. Spring is just around the corner and I cannot wait to see what brings!

From the bottom of my heart—thank you for supporting a small business, a dream in its early days, and the calling I feel God placed on my heart ❤️
