HARVEST DAY & THE HANG ✂️🌿 | Growing Series Ep. 15
Welcome to Episode 15 of The Growing Series: Harvest Day & The Hang! ✂️🌿
​Scissors out, plants down. Sixty days of hard work protected—or lost—in the next hour. Here is how we execute harvest day and set up a slow, terpene-preserving hang.
​Key Protocols & Golden Rules:
​🌡️ The 62 / 62 Rule: Set your dry room to strictly 62°F and 62% RH. Temperatures above 70°F flash-off delicate terpenes, while low RH dries the outer shell too fast, trapping harsh chlorophyll.
​🌙 End-of-Dark Harvest: Cut at the end of the dark period when terpene concentration peaks before heat and light can volatilize delicate aromatics.
​🌿 Whole Plant Dry: Cut at the base and hang the entire plant inverted. Leaving sugar leaves intact creates a natural moisture buffer for a smoother, slower dry.
​⏱️ Speed Matters: Transfer cut plants into the dry room within 15–30 minutes to shield trichomes from light and heat degradation.
​💨 Indirect Airflow: Point oscillating fans at walls, never directly at hanging plants, to prevent wind burn and uneven drying.
​From Our Grow Log (Batch 1 Harvest):
​Day 59 (04:00): Dry room confirmed locked at 62°F / 62% RH.
​Day 59 (04:15): First cuts made in complete darkness.
​Day 59 (04:30): Entire room cut, hung within 12 minutes, and room sealed for a 10-day slow dry.
