Pure Joy Farms Our family is working to bring life back to an old farm outside of Fergus Falls, MN.

We raise heritage hogs in our woodlot and Icelandic sheep on restored prairie. We sell pork, lamb, hand-milked sheep body products, pumpkins, and other vegetables.

Are any of our gardening followers interested in some unshelled edamame pods with seeds to grow? These are Beer Friend variety — in my humble opinion, the best variety out there, and the hardest to find! We purchased the seed from Victory Seed Company last spring. We saved a lot of our crop last summer for seed, but it is more than what we can use. I have enough to share with several people if there is significant interest. I have tested them and had 100% germination with 30 seeds indoors this winter. FREE to someone who will use them, but requires a little time to shell the pods.

Icelandic raw wool fleeces from our fall shearing are now listed on our website! We have 15 virgin lamb fleeces and 12 adult fleeces, varying in color including white, badgerface (tan), white / black spotted, solid brown, brown grey, solid black, and black grey. All are meticulously skirted (poo and vegetative matter removed) and packaged in a breathable, pillowcase-style bag, allowing short or long term storage. The staple length ranges from 4-9” with the majority being around 6 inches making these fleeces idea for hand-spinning into yarn, for making faux sheepskin rugs or other craft projects.

We receive so many amazing reviews from buyers; you won’t be disappointed!

It’s a perfect weekend to go for a drive and load up with fall deliciousness! The truck is restocked with every kind of squash — Butternut, Buttercup, Delicata, Mashed Potato, and as promised Candy Roaster! We still have lots of pumpkins too.

Shearing day! I say it every time, but it is such a good feeling to have this job done! Hilary comes to our rescue twice a year. This guy LOVES sheep. And he loves people. We hear his adventurous tales and inspires us every time to keep doing this farming thing.
