First week of eggs from our hens. It’s so fun to see all the colors I was hoping for!! They are still super tiny but a couple big ones came! 😍

The garden is really shaping up! 3 years of conditioning the soil is paying off!! I did some pruning of the lower leaves for airflow and to stop fungus. With all this rain and humidity I wanted to stop that in its tracks. I also covered a big patch of weeds with a tarp too. Easier than pulling it all. Pretty soon I’ll be planting the zucchini, squash and pumpkin 🥰 best season I’ve had to date.

We’re feeling relieved. We had one bad rooster that was so violent and terrorizing his group. We removed him, and his 2 cronies stepped into his role. I removed them too, but I also had to keep them separate from him because he tried to kill them too. Good thing I had 2 dog kennels.

We decided to just process them early because they were being jerks in their jail cells. No reform was possible in a week. Now they were much smaller than we had hoped, but they needed to go early…that’s just the way it is.

Does your cat follow you? My cat follows me whenever I am outside. He is my shadow. Sometimes this can be a bit scary…like when he pops out from under the blackberry patch as I’m picking berries!! 😂 I definitely screamed that time!
