Part one of two of the wax cleaning from honey harvest

I cant even remember how many times I stopped and started this video!! I edited some part so it might be a little choppy I promise I will get better over time!

Key things i would like to state that I didnt in the videos are that the wax used was the capped wax we cut off from honey harvest! N some of the funky comb!

I decided I wanted to a video last minute and thats why its all over the place lol bare with me im new lol

Now we processed the extra honey slightly different then we have in the pasted since we where mainly trying to clean the wax so we can use it and we had a higher wax to honey ratio we just used on of our old wax cheese clothes that we used for the last wax session!

We only melt a little bit of wax at time to ensure we don't burn, or have the crock pot overflow

We where able to pull 8 frames from our hives yesterday and where blessed with about 18 pounds of honey!

Honey was processed with no heat a simple un capping method and extractor where used to leave 50% of the comb or more intact so the bees don't have to work extra hard to make new comb! We may get less honey this way but at least the bees won't have to use energy and resources that will be come limited soon (pollen n nectar ect) to rebuild !

We left more frames in each box than we took to ensure they will not go hungry!

We then used a strainer to separate larger pieces of comb that might of fallen in.

But don't worry we didn't over process lol their is still pieces of comb and even some bits of pollen that made their ways into jar for us to enjoy

Any large parts of the comb that come off or we had to slice off for uncapping will be strained by hand using an organic cheese cloth and honey will be separated and the wax will he cleaned and melted down to re wax the supper frames to give the bees a boost on rebuilding!

Our 2 hives have been relocated to a less populated area in yullee since they are growing!

Last week we turned our 2 hives into 4 complete hives and 1 nuc box (small starter hive)

We will be keeping only small starter hives on the property and transporting once they are ready to become their own full hives!

Big thanks and shout out to my mentor for helping teach us the ways and keep our bee friends happy and safe!
