What's all the buzz about? The ancient apple trees are in bloom and the honeybees and bumblebees are busy. Turn up the volume and hear them hummmm.

Montana Honeybees - Inside the Beehouse

Here is a tour of the interior of the beehouse where the honeybees have used the added protection of the structure to help them against harsh elements (wind, snow, rain) and against preditors (skunks, racoons, bears). The last 5 winters one hive has done well and are thriving as full time Montana honeybees.

Montana Honeybees

This will be these honeybees 5th year at White Deer Ranch. So glad to see them again this Spring/Summer of 2020. They are tough honeybees to survive and thrive the cold winters we have here in Montana. They are busy collecting pollen today from dandelions, aspen tree and the chokecherry and apple blossoms in bloom right now at the Ranch. They have very clean creek water a short distance from their hive and hopefully no reason to travel too far to make a successful summer for them.

Hi there Friends of White Deer Ranch. There wasn't a visitor that came to see us that didn't fall in love with West our good will ambassador. We are sad to say that he has passed on, but we are ever so grateful for our time with him. He started out his life training to be a disaster search and rescue dog and later decided to be our companion here at the ranch. But he never left behind his love of interacting with anyone who would play with him. Here is a photo of him overlooking the ranch. He absolutely loved it here!!

White Deer Ranch For Sale

White Deer Ranch was given its’ name after discovering, the first week of having moved here, that an albino whitetail doe was living on the place. She was in the area for a few years only being spotted from time to time. Then a long period of time went on no white deer were seen. However, off and on for the last 5 years there have again been sightings by neighbors and guests of the illusive white deer. We think it is a sign of good luck when we see one and always time time to stop no matter what we’re doing and watch them pass by.

We believe that if we take care of the worms and the honeybees with proper earth stewardship everything else will thrive.

And it did thrive, as did we for having lived here for these past decades; Lee since 1989 and Roxanne since 1998, our children and grand children (now even great grandchildren) have also enjoyed the experiences here. The fresh air, the abundant crystal clear water that tastes like rays of sunshine and the endless views and nature all around is good for your soul.

If we didn’t have a strong desire to start seeing other parts of the world, we could be happy in this little spot forever. But, something is calling us to enter the next phase of our lives.
