In Appalachia, we don't keep traditions alive because they're old. We keep them alive because they still matter. Every garden planted, meal shared, jar canned, and hand lent to a neighbor is proof that our greatest resource has always been each other.

To our value-added producers, this is something that should truly help you with big-picture business practices! It's hands-on and in-depth, so follow the link in the original post to register!

We'll see you there!

Join us Thursday, June 18, from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM for MarketReady Training!

We’ve teamed up with MarketReady Producer Training Program to deliver a very in-depth and hands-on program built to help value-added producers take the next step from kitchen tables and farmers' markets to wholesale opportunities and larger buyers. Scan the QR code to reserve your spot, or click here - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/marketready-training-tickets-1989846120311?aff=oddtdtcreator&keep_tld=true, or swipe up when you see our story!

This training is about more than selling a product. It’s about helping our hardworking growers and producers build something sustainable for themselves, their families, and their communities. Participants will learn all about product quality and food safety, including pricing, insurance, risk management, and marketing that actually works.

The day will also feature a live panel of wholesale buyers sharing honest insight about what helps products stand out and what gets businesses market-ready.
We’ll see you there!

Want real hands-on experience working with local food, product development, and the people helping feed West Virginia communities?

Applications are now open for the WV Food and Agriculture Service Learning Internship through the West Virginia Food and Farm Coalition.

This hybrid internship provides students with hands-on experience through host-site placements, online learning, and real-world education in local food systems, entrepreneurship, and community agriculture.

Where: Appalachian Cellar

Interns at Appalachian Cellar will work directly with local food processing, packaging, and value-added food production while learning how small farms and food businesses bring products to market. Tasks may include chop-and-freeze processing, packaging products, inventory management, food safety practices, distribution support, earning their Food Handler Certification, and learning product development.

Spring in Appalachia isn’t just a season; it’s a renewal. The hills awaken with waves of green, the dirt gets turned, the seeds meet soil, and porches fill with family and stories. Around here, spring means hard work, new hope, and the reminder that good things still grow from the ground up.

It started with a small garden along the Cheat River in Preston County, West Virginia, where the soil, air, and grit came together and turned a handful of peppers into something people couldn’t get enough of.

What began as homemade gifts grew into Andor Peppers, a small-batch line of hand-crafted hot sauces and spices shaped by the land, the seasons, and the hands that make them.
