Hello everyone! Ive been away from social media for a bit. YES we still have hot sauce to purchase, No worries. But Before I started making Hot sauces again, I had spent the last 2 years studying the Bible, and creating content of Biblical nature in the same way I was taught a lot of things I know today. Going full in on hot sauce had me breaking away From something I care for the most. And that is My faith and relationship with God. In other words, I had to take up my cross and follow God once again in the same way I was before. Now the hot sauce isnt going anywhere, But I am scaling back a bit to focus on What I beleive is MOST important. 📍Just a few miles north of downtown Cincinnati sits one of the oldest zoos in the country — the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, opened in 1875. But what most people don’t know is that the zoo’s earliest days were anything but tame…

In its very first year of operation, with fences barely finished and enclosures still experimental, the zoo faced not one — but two serious animal escapes that shook the city.

The first escape involved a lioness, brought in from Africa as part of a prized exhibit. As construction crews worked on finalizing her enclosure, she slipped through an unsecured gate and roamed the grounds, sending workers and visitors fleeing. Chaos broke out as the staff scrambled to trap her using wagons and nets. She was eventually cornered and returned to her pen, but not before making local headlines and giving the young zoo a wild reputation.

But the more infamous escape came just a few weeks later.

A leopard, agile and spooked by its new environment, managed to leap from its enclosure during feeding time. It vanished into the surrounding trees and nearby neighborhoods, triggering a full-scale manhunt that lasted for days. Armed citizens, zookeepers, and police scoured the area. For over 72 hours, residents were on edge, scanning treetops and alleyways.

Finally, the leopard was spotted crouching beneath a barn in Avondale. Zookeepers approached cautiously, using a combination of meat and distraction to coax the big cat out before safely sedating and returning it to the zoo.

While no injuries occurred, the incidents forced the zoo to rethink its safety protocols and cemented a legacy of wild beginnings that few Cincinnatians know today.

👀 The next time you visit the zoo, remember: the calm you see today was built on a past that was anything but.

This is just one of the many stories hidden along I-75 — where history is often told, but rarely heard.
