Sweet Alabama Pecan Breadβa moist, delicious treat loaded with pecans and a hint of sweetness:
Ingredients
β’ 1 cup granulated sugar
β’ 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
β’ 1 cup vegetable oil
β’ 4 large eggs
β’ 2 cups all-purpose flour
β’ 1 tsp baking powder
β’ 1/4 tsp salt
β’ 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
β’ 1 cup chopped pecans
Optional Glaze (for extra sweetness)
β’ 1/2 cup powdered sugar
β’ 2-3 tbsp milk
β’ 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or loaf pans (your choice).
2. Mix the Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and oil. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until smooth.
3. Prepare the Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
4. Combine
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in the vanilla extract and chopped pecans.
5. Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 25β30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
6. Cool and Glaze (Optional)
Allow the bread to cool slightly before removing it from the pan. If using the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a small bowl, then drizzle over the cooled bread.
