I’ve got tallow cooling in the fridge now, fresh to you and La Belle FDL tomorrow!! YEH!

As I was making product today, I was thinking of what was my go to Vogds Creekside Acres product this summer? Easy! Lavender body serum! The lavender essential oil has a soothing effect on sun drenched skin, while also hydrating like crazy. The beeswax holds in that moisture to keep you moisturized all day long! Also, who doesn’t love a GLOW all summer long? It’s kinda my favorite. Lavender for the summer and vanilla bloom for every other month!

It’s FLOWER SEASON!!! I am a very mini flower farmer learning everyday and from people who are more expert than myself. First off, our bees love them! That’s a win win! And when I’m cutting and arranging them, I have true joy! I have a great friend, Ashley Geasland who also enjoys it just as much as I do and helped supply the zinnias and cosmos in these arrangements! Thank you dear! Watch her for some beautiful bouquets too!!!

I love how the bells of Ireland bring so much drama to these! They are nearing the end but will still be available for 1-2 more weeks in bouquets or as separate stems. I just have these 2 mason jars available now but more to come in the next week! Please comment below or message me if you’d like to snag them up!

Unfortunately our sunflower field is less than spectacular this year. Between a cooler June, lack of rain and bugs…they aren’t as prolific or pretty as last year. 😞 I hope to have some to add to bouquets soon.

🎃 **Pumpkin Spotlight** 🎃

Snowball became a favorite a couple years ago when they were so prolific and would not quit! We had so many small, white pumpkins with the best long stems! They kept their white flesh even better than other white pumpkins too! So they are here to stay!

One too many, a white and orange striped, large variety is a *new* one to the patch! I love how easy this one will be to mix with you white or orange varieties. They can get up to 25 pounds!

Despite the intense bug pressure and lack of rain, they are growing. We hope to have loads and loads of pumpkins come September!

**Pumpkin Spotlight** 🎃

First up was one of my favorites from last year. She came in so pretty and pink! She was a beautiful medium sized pumpkin, about 15-24 pounds. *Porcelain doll* Deeply ribbed and beautiful. It also has sweet flesh great for pies, soups and roasting. They are coming in really well!!

White dumpling squash is new this year! I hope to have some of these but the plants didn’t come in as quick and well as the others. I find these so pretty with those traditional black and white stripes. They will mix and match with any combo of colors you pick!! They of course are wonderful and meant to be eaten as well. Decor and food that lasts for months? Yes please!!

The struggle is real. Anyone who gardens a little or a lot knows July and August are a battle of bugs. Cucumber beetles and squash bugs have always been a nemesis of our pumpkin field…this year seems extra bad! I turned to this amazing company to get beneficial nematodes and insects!! They help with soil dwelling, plant killing insects at the larvae stage.

I continue to research and apply allll the organic, non pesticide, insecticide, fungicide ways of gardening for not only our bees but YOU! It’s incredibly time consuming, costly, back breaking but also peaceful at times. I love pumpkins and will keep putting in the work to have some gorgeous gems at the stand this fall!

These went on our field on Thursday and Friday and hope they are getting to work to help! Next up…molasses! 🤯

I hope you all had a fun and safe 4th of July weekend!! We sure did! 🇺🇸

July is going to bring pumpkin variety spotlight! With 39 different pumpkin varieties, there’s enough to go around! We hope to have them all at the stand starting in September along with sunflowers and mason jar bouquets.

Our bees have unfortunately not been behaving as well as previous years. We do not know at this time when we can offer honey again. 😔 We hope to in August as well.
