Poudre School District is participating in Colorado Healthy School Meals for All program. School meals are available to students at no cost regardless of income or submitting a free and reduced application, however it is still highly recommended that you complete the free and reduced meal application because it provides your family with many benefits in the community and supports our schools in multiple ways. We have had a wonderful week celebrating both National School Lunch week and Colorado Proud Farm to School Month! To celebrate we had amazing students participate in a student cooking competition Wednesday evening using local produce served at PSD! We are blown away by how great all the students did and their creative recipes. We are so excited and thankful to be able to serve our students amazing local produce items! A big thank you to our special judges and guests from Nourish Colorado and Colorado Department of Agriculture!

October is Colorado Proud Farm to School Month! We are so proud to be celebrating this month with many local fruits and vegetables being served on all PSD cafe salad bars! We are currently serving baby and shredded carrots from Hungenberg Farm in Greeley, yellow squash and zucchini form Milberger Farms, and onions from Petrocco Farms. Other great local fruits and vegetables we have been serving include melons, cucumbers, and bell peppers!

lincoln_lancers Lincoln’s Kitchen Manager, Denise, is one of our longest-serving managers. She has been with our department for an incredible 36 years!
Her experience and care for students make a difference every day. Here she is serving one of this year’s new menu items, our ramen bowl.

This beautiful salad bar at Dunn Elementary is filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, giving students plenty of colorful choices to enjoy with their meals.
Across our schools, Child Nutrition staff work hard to offer students a variety of fresh options and encourage them to explore new foods. Great job, Dunn team!

The Tavelli Elementary Tavelli kitchen team wears many hats, and we mean that literally!
From pizza and turkey to pig-themed hats, this team has a fun task is to matching a hat to almost every meal. It is a simple but special way to bring smiles to students and create a positive, welcoming cafeteria experience.

We are so excited for our upcoming Student Cooking Contest! To celebrate National School Lunch Week and Farm to School Month in October, we are looking for amazing student chefs to submit their favorite recipe using squash, root vegetables, greens, or peppers - all local produce items being served at PSD cafes this school year.
