These babies are huge!

At just over 2 weeks old now, these chicks love to get out and stretch their legs- and I can see why! Your first instinct might be "four roosters", but it's not a gender clue- they all have a buff brahma dad, and he's about 12 pounds!

All four have different mamas- a barnevelder, a barred rock, a sapphire olive egger and an Easter egger. Our little baby toast has some very impressive patterns already, and we're seeing the genetics from each breed showing up in different ways.

The chicks are thriving, the kids are loving having babies around, and I'm realizing that chicken genetics might be my new favorite thing to learn about.

Obi wants to know which present is for him- I want to know what a giant tortoise who spends his winter inside like a dog could possibly even want under the tree 🎄🐢😂
