The evening is co-hosted by WFSB’s Renee DiNino and playwright Jacques Lamarre, with delicious food from Chef GiGi Lawrence, plus a cash bar, vendors, silent auction and plenty of surprises. 🐾

The night also celebrates this year’s Bark Twain Award honorees, recognizing incredible work in animal rescue, K9 law enforcement, advocacy, volunteering and more.

Basically… a night for a great cause with a whole lot of heart. ❤️🐾

I was supposed to share my story about being an extra when TWISTED came out… but life, lmao. 😂

So here we are!

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to play background in a hospital scene and got to see Djimon Hounsou and Neal McDonough at work. Being on a real film set and watching everything come together was such a cool experience.

I also really enjoyed connecting with so many talented local actors and crew who helped make the experience even more fun.

And how cool is it that a movie with an incredible cast including Lauren LaVera, Alicia Witt, Djimon Hounsou and Neal McDonough was filmed right here in Connecticut?!

While my face didn’t make the shot during this scene 🤣, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity and had so much fun being part of it.

And this one means a little more to me because a portion of the proceeds benefits Connecticut Foodshare, an organization I’m proud to work with and support. What happens when big ideas, bold people and unexpected connections all end up in the same room?

Back in May, I was invited to attend the Yale Innovation Summit at the Yale School of Management, and it was an experience that really stuck with me.

The Summit brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, creators, researchers and leaders across everything from technology and biotech to climate, health, arts and civic innovation.

I especially enjoyed the panels and conversations, but one of my favorite parts was connecting with other creators and innovators who are thinking differently, building something new and turning ideas into action.

As a creator and entrepreneur, getting into rooms like this is always inspiring. You never know which conversation, connection or idea might lead to the next big play.

We made it through Season 1! 🎙️

For the Season 1 finale of Mike Check with Perez, I had the honor of chatting with Colten & Allison, the duo behind Food of CT.

We talk about how they got started, the struggles they face as creators, and so much more. It was an honor to hear their story and have them be part of the first season.

This one also came with a few production challenges. 😂 We recorded at a bbq, the smoke had the lighting looking a little washed out, and Colten wasn’t fully in frame. So…we had to get creative with what we had!

Colten, I’m sorry about that one. I want to make it up to you! 🤝

This was a short but sweet first season. Not every scheduled interview worked out, but that’s part of the process. I’m grateful for everyone who showed up, shared their story, and supported this passion project.

I’m looking forward to Season 2 and sharing even more stories from the people, creators, and businesses that make Connecticut special.
