Happy Easter, everyone. Things are really hopping around here. We replaced some of the peach, 🍑 plum, and pecan trees, as well as some blueberry 🫐 bushes we lost to weather last year. We also planted a couple apple 🍎 🍏 trees, pear trees and fig trees. Yesterday we got about halfway through planting strawberries 🍓 bell peppers 🫑 Tobasco peppers 🌶 cayenne peppers, jalapeños, habaneros, tomatoes, pickling cucumbers 🥒 and dill. We also got the ground ready for muscadine plants, which we hope to get in the ground later this week. Thankful for the rain that started while we were in church this morning. God is watering the new “babies” and giving us a well needed rest.

Coming soon: homemade jams and jellies!! I spent a couple days learning from a very talented canning expert, then came back to the farm and jumped in with both feet. I've been experimenting with lots of recipes. Spoiler alert - they've all been FANTASTIC! I will keep you posted on when and where they will be available. See you soon.

Spring has sprung here in Coke, Texas. While the freeze may have taken a small toll on the pecan trees and blueberry bushes, most of the plants seem to be holding their own. Only 3 of the 170 blueberry bushes have any berries on them this year. We are holding out hope for next year.

Rick finally got me to venture back out this morning. It is beautiful, but I’m really wondering how the trees are going to do. Here are some shots of the pecans, peaches, blueberries, and the farm in general.

Well... I didn’t have 500 bedsheets to cover up all of our new baby trees and bushes. I am counting on God and the fact that the trees and bushes are dormant. If you zoom in on a few of the pics, you can see the peach trees in the foreground and the pecans in the background. Both of our phones shut down before we could get too many pictures.
