DNA testing in for our youngest junior herd sire - High Velocity.
Out of Derecho and sired by our young yearling High Standards, this single white buck kid caught my eye the day he was born. However, like most out of two year olds, he was put on the back burner since his dam was not proven.
Derecho hit the show ring this spring with gusto, earning several reserves behind finished champions and grabbing two grands of her own. She may be pending finished after the smoke clears, but I’m not calling it until we know for sure.
Derecho then went on to appraised a 91 EX a month before her second birthday.
Velocity is growing into a large, wide stretchy thing with the sweetest temperament. He is a doppelgänger of his dam with the height and sharpness of his sire. We are excited to use him on a few of the Sagebrush does this fall to kid as yearlings.
