Beekeeping update! Checked on 29/32 colonies today and added round 2 of mite treatment. The girls were pretty docile today- only one colony was spicy & I was stung twice- it’s part of the gig at this point. I’m lucky that my reactions have lessened over time. I barely react anymore- little redness and no swelling.

I have a few more colonies then I really wanted heading into this time of the year. I may wait another couple weeks and then combine a few together with newspaper. A week ago I had a swarm- the wrong time of year for that. I’m feeding them to give them a chance- the queen is laying well. But… where did they come from- mine? Someone else’s? Wild bees? I may not know- all of the colonies I checked today were queen-right. Time to make an order from Strong Microbials for bee bites- I like their probiotic products for bees 🐝
