We’re just under a month away from our 2026 golf outing and wanted to give a small sampler of the gifts you could win this year! Local 381 once again donated the Yeti 65 cooler and the Blue Jackets donated a signed Cole Sillinger puck and photo!

There’s still room to sign up your team but get those registrations in soon, the slots are going fast!

Local 381 spent the week at the University of Findlay All Hazards Training Center performing a functional hazmat exercise. In addition to our traditional Fire, Rescue, and EMS response, all current members of Findlay Fire are trained to the Hazardous Materials Technician level.

This exercise was the culmination of over a years worth of continuing education on various strategies, tactics, and equipment. All shifts performed actions with their staffing of the day and in an effort to keep crews available for responses, some of our actions were simulated.

Local 381 would like to thank UF for the use of their wonderful training center. We absolutely appreciate your hospitality!

Our friends and brothers to the south were struck by a semi on I-75 this morning. While we are thankful no one was injured, this is a stark reminder to move over when passing emergency and broken down vehicles on the interstate.

One of our least favorite places to be is operating on I-75 and State Route 15 for this very reason.

Move. Over. It’s that simple.

Public Safety Announcement: Slow Down & Move Over
Last night, one of our fire engines was struck by a semi on I‑75 while crews were operating at an emergency scene. Thankfully, no firefighters were injured — but this incident is a serious reminder of how dangerous highway responses can be.
When you see emergency lights:
• Slow Down
• Move Over into the next lane if possible
• Give responders space to work safely
These steps aren’t just courteous — they are Ohio law and they save lives. Every day, firefighters, medics, police officers, tow operators, and highway workers stand just feet away from fast‑moving traffic while helping others.
Your cooperation helps ensure we all make it home safely.
Thank you for doing your part to protect those who protect you.

While we are all blessed to have some wonderful mothers in the lives of Local 381 members, we would like to take a moment to recognize two of our very own on this Mothers Day!

In addition to their incredible work at home, Administrative Assistant Beth Baker and Firefighter Whitney Parrish work tirelessly at the Findlay Fire Department to protect our great city.

Thank you for all you do, today and every day! 💐 ❤️

🚒 Training on Engine 3 🚒

Today members of Local 381 welcomed representatives from Sutphen to deliver training on new Engine 3. Members were able to put the truck through its paces and we were able to see for the first time how capable this apparatus truly is.

For the next few days we will host these reps from Sutphen and then you will likely begin seeing this beauty around town as we complete driver/operator training on our own prior to it’s in service date. We can’t wait to get this rig in service to serve you!
