I’m having ALOT of fun canning since I learned the basics of pickles 🥒 I’ve got 15 jars of dill/bread & butter ! I’m a little sad I didnt start earlier when my cucumber plants were In full production 🫣

Tomorrow I’m going to use my tomatoes 🍅 and attempt pasta sauce !

So… the question is .. should we put some canned goods down at the farm stand?

You know those tomatoes you’ve been watching every day, whispering sweet nothings like “turn red already”? Yeah… sometimes they decide they’re in no hurry. That’s when fried green tomatoes swoop in to save the day.

These beauties came right out of our garden—long, sassy paste tomatoes who clearly didn’t read the memo about ripening. But here’s the secret: green tomatoes aren’t garden failures… they’re crunchy, tangy opportunities in disguise.

👉 Slice ‘em thick.
👉 Dip ‘em in buttermilk + cornmeal (or flour if that’s what you’ve got).
👉 Fry until golden and crispy.
👉 Try not to burn your mouth when you can’t wait for them to cool.

So here’s your sign: if your tomatoes are dragging their feet, don’t stress—just fry the stubborn little rebels. Homestead life is all about rolling with what the garden gives you… and sometimes what it gives you is a skillet full of crunchy goodness. 🥘✨

Word on the street is… I’ve got the good yolk. 🍳
No weak, pale, grocery-store knockoffs here—just farm fresh, heavy-hitting, sunshine-gold yolks straight from the ladies themselves 🐓💃

Over 6 dozen available. $3 a dozen.

Think of me as your local “egg dealer”… except instead of a back alley, it’s my driveway… and instead of shady bags, it’s squeaky clean cartons. 😏

We were busy on the homestead today!

Our nephew and I did our first ever canning today. Dill pickles, 🥒 and just tell me why we were shaking with nerves the entire time 🤣🫣 We def had some bumps along the way, but it’s knowledge for next time 😉 We ended up making 4 pint size jars to start with!

And we made a batch of a dozen chocolate chip Zuchinni muffins along with 4 loaves of chocolate chip Zuchinni bread 😍 Can you say delish.

My kitchen may not look great now but it sure does smell good 🤣

At the beginning of the season I had a bag of store bought potatoes 🥔 sitting in my pantry that were starting to root 🤣 I decided to throw them in the dirt and see what happens.

Can I just say they have flourished 😍 here is our first potatoe harvest of the season! Just off of one plant 🌱

I’ll let ya’ll know how they taste after I’m done cooking them up 😍

We’ve decided to downsize our flock a bit, which means we have some healthy, happy birds looking for new homes.

✨ Laying Hens – $10 each
• 1 Leghorn
• Several Rhode Island Reds
(Already laying, great for your egg basket!)

✨ Chicks – 9–10 weeks old – $7 each
• 2 Barred Rocks roosters
• A few mixed breeds
• Rhode Island red rooster
(Almost ready to start giving you those first eggs in the months ahead!)

Did someone say chocolate chip Zuchinni bread 😍

This little guy popped up just a few days ago, well probably longer than that, but it’s when I noticed 🤣

I didn’t think they would produce much this year, but they are holding out strong. So far this is our one and only but hey if that’s all I get I’m still happy 👏🏻

Literally so good 😉 The first loaf is pretty much gone 🤣

Now the question is ❓ should I offer these at the farmstand in slices or whole loaves? Let me know 👇🏻

Today’s midday homestead haul 🥒🍅🥚 — the cucumbers are coming in hot (and honestly, they might be plotting something at this point 😅).

I’m seriously so proud of this year’s growing season. We’ve already doubled what we had last year, and we’re not even close to done! No compost, no fancy tricks — just a whole lot of dirt, sweat, and stubborn determination.

And yes, the farm stand is stocked! Fresh veggies and eggs are ready for anyone who wants a little taste of the homestead life 🐓🌶️
