Why Christmas in July? Christmas, the spirit of giving.

Because hay, grain and more don’t wait until December.

The animals need food, clean water, veterinary care, safe shelter, and loving hands every single day of the year—not just during the holidays.

This campaign is about giving our community several ways to make a difference.

❤️ Why We Keep Going

Every morning begins the same way.

Feed buckets are filled.
Water troughs are checked.
Barns are cleaned.
Gates are opened.

And more than 60 rescued animals wake up knowing they’re safe.

To them, it’s just another day.

To us, it’s a promise we’ve made.

A promise that they’ll never have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. A promise that they’ll receive the care they need, a safe place to rest, and people who will never give up on them.

Today, they have full bellies, soft places to rest, friends to spend their days with, and people who love them. They spend their days grazing, playing, splashing in pools, taking naps in the shade, and simply enjoying the life every animal deserves.

That’s what your support has made possible.

Every visit to the farm, every volunteer hour, every share, every encouraging comment, every kind word, and every donation has helped turn uncertainty into safety and fear into trust.

But keeping that promise isn’t easy.

Behind every happy photo is a lot of hard work, long days, late nights, and difficult decisions. Animals don’t know when it’s a holiday or when life gets expensive. They still need breakfast every morning, fresh water on the hottest days, veterinary care when they’re sick, safe fencing, clean bedding, and people willing to show up—365 days a year.

We do it because they deserve nothing less.

As we look ahead, we’re excited to share something we’ve been working on—something fun, meaningful, and created with these amazing animals in mind.

We’ll be sharing all the details this Saturday.

Every rescued animal has a story.

Some arrived hungry.
Some arrived scared.
Some simply needed a second chance.

No matter how they got here, they all have one thing in common—they depend on us every single day.

The truth is, caring for more than 60 rescued farm animals isn’t getting any less expensive. Hay, feed, veterinary care, fencing, and everyday supplies continue to rise in cost, but our promise to them never changes.

Just like your grocery bill has grown over the past few years, so has ours.

When we first started the rescue, a square bale of hay cost about $5. Today, that same bale is around $9 during the summer and often $10 or more once winter arrives. Large round bales that once averaged $60 now cost $75 or more in the summer and can reach $100 during the winter months.

Feed costs continue to climb. Diesel fuel for the tractor and farm equipment costs more. Veterinary care has increased dramatically, making every wellness visit, emergency call, and medical treatment more expensive than ever before.

Then there are the everyday expenses that most people never think about.

Our farm relies on a well, so every water bowl that’s filled, every kiddie pool we refill for the ducks and geese, every hose used to cool animals during a heat wave, and every bucket of fresh water starts with an electric pump. Every time it runs, the electric meter spins.

Those stretches of 90- and 100-degree days don’t just take a toll on the animals—they increase the cost of keeping them safe and comfortable. Fans run around the clock to move air through the barns. Water is constantly replenished. Shade, cooling, and extra care become part of every day’s routine.

None of these are luxuries.

They’re simply part of providing the safe, healthy life every rescued animal deserves.
