Our tomato growing friends to the south are bringing in a beautiful crop right now and racing to stay ahead of the rain. That means we’ve got a gorgeous selection of field grown South Texas tomatoes at the stand for the next few days.

We’re talking tomatoes from Three Rivers, Luling, and Pearsall, picked at their peak and ready for your kitchen. They’re perfect for slicing, canning, making salsa, or stocking up in larger quantities.

Stop by the market soon. Once they’re gone, they’re gone! 🍅

People always ask us why peaches grow so well in Fredericksburg, Texas. 🍑

The short answer: elevation and the soil. Fredericksburg sits at roughly 1,700 feet in the Hill Country, high enough for cool winter nights that give our trees the “chill hours” they need to set fruit properly. Most of Texas is too warm for that. The Pedernales River Valley that provides sandy loam and-clay soil with wonderful minerals and trace elements does the rest.

It’s not luck. It’s geography. And we’re grateful every single year. 🧡
