We are having so much fun with this cool Fall weather 🍁, that it has inspired us to pull out the old International Scout and decorate it! Come see Debbie with Farm Fresh Creations of Fredericksburg at Eckhardt Orchards Fall Market on Fridays and Saturdays 9 to 5:30 in October.

What does new growth look like? 🌿
Dianne holds up a branch to show it: the new growth a peach tree puts on in late August and September. A long, healthy leaf like this one is a very good sign the tree is doing well.

What’s happening in the peach orchard right now? 🍑
Dianne shares what the trees are up to this fall: still forming their budwood for next year’s crop, changing their leaves, and getting ready to go dormant. 🍂

Women of the Orchard 🍑

At Eckhardt Orchards, farming has always been a family affair, and an equal opportunity one at that. This series celebrates the women who help keep our orchard growing, in the shade, in the field, and everywhere a second set of hands is needed.

With gratitude for every set of hands that helps us in the orchard and on the farm. 🌳

It’s raining in the Hill Country today! We caught Dianne at the orchard yesterday, before the storm, talking about how they prep the ground each fall and capture runoff from the old stock tank. Today, all that prep goes to work. ☔️ Are you getting rain where you are?
