Last night we stayed up late for our big annual meeting. We heard from new vendor applicants to consider, and discussed current vendors’ new products they want to bring this year. We talked about our budget, where our funding comes from, and the things we need to have money for, like insurance, brochures, and portapotties. We took stock of our food access programming and started planning for our first year doing market-wide Maine Senior FarmShare, beginning this June! We all play different roles in getting market business done so that it can thrive: there’s a Chair, a Secretary, two co-Treasurers, a Winter Manager, a Summer Manager, a whole Steering Committee, a Webmaster, a Promotions Committee, and others who do individual support jobs like gathering info for our newsletters, running errands and gathering supplies, and having meetings with our sponsors and Maine Federation of Farmers' Markets . We’re all really grateful to be able to be your vendors, AND, remember, Farmers’ Markets Don’t Just Happen!
Thanks for being with us through the winter in the Chace Forum, and looking forward to having the gang all back together at Head of Falls in May.
