Even though the cake competition was this past weekend… that didn’t stop me taking orders! 😂🔥

And this one was a BIG one — 15 DOZEN cupcakes (!!) plus a sweet little 5” three-layer cutting cake for the bride and groom! 💍💗

Everything was dressed in the prettiest blush pink + sea glass green palette, and I love how it all came together! 🥰

The cutting cake was raspberry sponge with vanilla buttercream — light, fruity, and absolutely delicious! 🍓

For the cupcakes, we had:
🧁 7½ dozen Strawberries-N-Cream with vanilla buttercream
🧁 7½ dozen Lemon Sponge with Blueberries baked right in, finished with vanilla buttercream 🍋🫐

15 dozen cupcakes. A three-layer cake. Right along with the competition weekend…(my cake plus helping to guide 3 kiddos with their cakes!) Apparently I don’t know how to take it easy. 😂😂

But honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way! ❤️🔥 Thank you SO much for trusting Katie’s Kitchen with such a special part of your celebration!

Took 3rd place today! 🥉 lots of talent in that room, I’m grateful for the recognition, that’s for sure!
Kiddos didn’t place, but man oh man, am I SO proud of them!!

Tomorrow is the big day! My 2 youngest, my niece, and myself are competing in the Maine State Cake Decorating Championship!
Today, we had a visit from a reporter who works with News Channel 6, 207! They got a bit of video from the bakery and interviewed the 4 of us! 🤩 (They suspect it will air Wednesday 🤞🏻) They are going to finish up their story tomorrow at the event, so wish us luck!!

IT’S BAKING DAY!

My 2 youngest kiddos and my niece, (and myself of course!) will all have cakes on display!

🎂✨ ONE WEEK TO GO!! ✨🎂

The Maine State Cake Decorating Championship is officially ONE WEEK from today, and things are about to get BUSY in the bakery!! 😳🎂💗

This week will be filled with baking, decorating, practicing, planning, probably a little stress 😂, and LOTS of buttercream!

I’ll be working hard on my cake for the Professionals Division, but I’m not the only one competing this year! 🥹

My two youngest AND my niece are all entering cakes in the Juniors Division!! 🎉🎂💕

And while I can’t actually make their cakes for them (as much as I may want to sometimes 😂), I CAN coach them, help them troubleshoot, answer approximately 847 questions, and cheer them on every step of the way! 😆🙌🏻

I am SO incredibly proud of these kids for taking on the challenge and putting their creativity and skills to the test! Watching them learn, practice, problem-solve, and create their own cakes has been such a special part of this whole experience. 🥹💗

So…wish us luck!! 🍀🎂✨

We’ll be giving it our all this week and bringing our cakes to the competition next Saturday! I hope to see some familiar faces there cheering everyone on! 🫶🏻

Sweet little baby shower cupcakes went out this past weekend! 🧁💕

These marble cupcakes were topped with my new Best Cream recipe… and OH. MY. GOODNESS. 🤤 I think it’s safe to say this one is here to stay because it is SO incredibly delicious!

Decorated in soft baby pink and baby purple to celebrate an exciting surprise… identical twin girls! 🩷💜 What an amazing blessing for this sweet family. I hope everyone had the most wonderful time celebrating these precious little ladies before they make their big arrival! 🫶🏻✨

Two birthdays, one extra sweet celebration! 💙🧡🎉

These 30 cakesicles were made for a father-and-son birthday duo, and I had the best time bringing both themes to life!

🩵 The birthday boy is turning 2, so of course we had to celebrate with everyone’s favorite blue pup—Bluey! These adorable cakesicles are marble flavored and packed with birthday fun.

🧱 And for Dad? A bright and colorful LEGO® theme with carrot cake cakesicles that are just as delicious as they are fun!

I absolutely love when I get to create treats that celebrate the whole family. These turned out so. stinkin. cute. 🥹💕
