Rest easy, Leo… you were the most loyal dog.

You’ll be missed more than words can say, and you’ve left your paw print on us forever.

Before Mission Peak Wine was really a thing, this account started with photos of our Great Danes and the vineyard... just a glimpse into our everyday life, not knowing what it would grow into. And through all of it, you were there.

From quiet mornings on the ranch to long days in the vineyard, you were part of the foundation of it all. A constant, steady presence. The best kind of companion. You would follow me everywhere if you could. I used to joke to Jason that if I ever got lost/hurt on the property, just let Leo out and he'll lead him to me.

Thank you for the years of loyalty, love, and protection. It won’t be the same without you.

Forever our gentle giant 🤍🐾

Morning hike was a success!

We started bright and early and made our way up Mission Peak with the best crew.

Fresh air, good company, and those views that never get old!

This is what the wine club is really about. Sharing fun experiences. Cheers 🍷🍷

To be honest, I’ve never been a Chardonnay fan! When I first started drinking white wine, I always reached for a Sauvignon Blanc, which is why our first white wine varietal was Sauv Blanc. It was easy to drink, light, and usually bursting with citrus notes. So when it came time to decide what varietal to plant in place of a small section of our Pinot Noir, Chardonnay wasn’t at the top of my list. It felt a little… outdated. A wine of the past.

But as we poured at local events, especially the Fremont Art Festival, we kept hearing the same request over and over: “I’ll take a glass of Chardonnay,” said with the confidence of someone assuming, of course we made one. And when I started talking to local restaurant owners, the message was the same: if you’re pouring white wine, Chardonnay is a must.

After plenty of thought (and more than a few long walks through the vineyard), I decided to take the leap. In 2023, we planted our first section of Chardonnay, about 500 vines. If the season is kind to us, we’re hoping for enough fruit to produce around
