Grinch went broody 2 days ago. So Tuffnut and Grinch are on eggs and I have 5 Moms on the ground with chicks. Debating if I should also load the incubator. My coffee pot went out the other day so I got a replacement yesterday. Real coffee this morning after 2 days of instant. It's a good day!

Nothing wakes you up faster then noticing a brown recluse crawling on your arm. At least I didn't scream, just brushed it off and squished it.

So I took a few days off social media. Good news is that Yeti decided being broody again was not in the cards. Better news is that Tuffnut decided she should try being broody. Laverne and Yeti have both kicked their chicks to the curb at around 4 weeks except at night when they are allowed to cuddle. But the chicks are doing great during the day without Mom and the temperature is warm enough that they are fine.

Really hating Fire season right now. Praying for everyone who has a fire close to them. After the scare we had 2 years ago where our entire town was surrounded with no way out to escape I am much more cautious when I see those smoke plumes in the sky. Right now there are several plumes visible and that is not a comfort.

Well Yeti weaned her chick, layed 1 egg, and is now camping in the nest box broody again. She just hatched her last clutch exactly 1 month ago. So now I have to decide if I will give her eggs or break her.
