Nathan doing homesteady things too. Built two mailbox posts, a driveway “sign”, a bridge, and a Renegade Homestead styled welcome sign for the garden. He also built a raised bed for the strawberries. (This was not all in one day!)

Foraging day! Spent the day at our friend’s property up north foraging and transplanting ramps (responsibly and ethically). Fed some birdies by hand. Winding down with some wild mint tea, foraged from the yard.

Grabbing compost and helping with some farm chores Cedar Gables Farm LLC last Saturday. Then came home and cleaned the chicken coop.

Signs of spring!! The hardest part about this time of year is PATIENCE. I want to jump right in, clean up my beds, get seeds in the ground. But working WITH nature means waiting until she’s ready. Thankfully tomorrow looks like I’ll be able to start some things.

Cold and rainy Saturday. So I did some inside chores. Tried a new bread recipe (still looking for my favorite before my grain mill comes). Made candles for an upcoming event and our farm stand.

Well that escalated quickly. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Wednesday after work I watered these seeds. They had not sprouted. I woke up this morning to some aggressive growth! I was waiting until they sprouted before I put the grow lights on them, but they leapt out so quickly I didn’t have time and now they are reaching. No worries, though, I’ll just bury them deep when I pot up.
