One of my favorite parts of having a garden is being able to send Grandma home with fresh goodies. 🩵

Today she left with green beans, tomatoes, peas, and a zucchini straight from the garden, plus a few packs of the salmon we caught this weekend. There’s just something so rewarding about sharing the things you’ve grown and harvested with the people you love. 🌱🐟

The garden is officially in full swing! 🌱💚

We have green beans coming out of our ears every single day, a slow but exciting trickle of ripe tomatoes, and we picked our very first two zucchinis!! 🥹🍅🥒

There is nothing more rewarding than watching months of hard work finally start filling the harvest basket. Here’s to many more fresh veggies (and finding every possible way to use green beans 😂)! 🌿

🌱✨ Our first harvest of the year is officially here!! ✨🌱

Today we picked our very first garden goodies: green beans, snap peas, Garden Salsa peppers, and Serrano peppers 🫛🌶️🥰

Isaac fried up the beans and peas in butter (which were AMAZING by the way)… but he may have gotten a little too creative and snuck a Serrano pepper in there without telling me 🤣

Safe to say I learned very quickly that our little garden peppers are doing their job because my mouth was absolutely on fire 🔥😂

There’s just something so special about eating food you grew yourself — even when your harvest fights back a little 🌿💚

Throwing it back to sunrise mornings on our little patch of earth 🤎🌿 the garden just getting started, Misty and Moosie in the beds with Isaac, and absolute kitten chaos unfolding everywhere 🐱😂

Tiny paws launching into the dirt, zoomies through the rows, attacking leaves like it was their life’s mission, then suddenly crashing in a sunbeam like nothing ever happened 🥹✨ it was peaceful and unhinged all at once in the best way

A few finishing touches left before the front of the greenhouse is complete, but it’s all starting to come together so beautifully 🤍🌿✨ And for a homemade door, I think we did pretty dang good 🥹

Pepper, Cactus, and Tater Tot were posted up inside the house on the fan-favorite bench watching the rain while I admired how dreamy the greenhouse is starting to look 🌧️🐾

Just another day on the farm… except today’s visitor was a Blanding’s turtle 🐢💛
These turtles are a pretty amazing sight to see since they’re considered vulnerable and are closely monitored in many places due to habitat loss and declining populations. Naturally, the cats appointed themselves to the welcoming committee 😂🐱

Today’s garden project: releasing 7,000 ladybugs + green lacewings for some natural pest control… with Cactus closely supervising, of course 🐈‍⬛🐞🌱

Ladybugs help take out pests like aphids, and green lacewings are basically tiny garden bodyguards that go after soft-bodied bugs trying to destroy all my hard work 💀😂

So between the beneficial bugs and Cactus’ quality control, the garden should be in good hands now 💅🌿

I’m all for letting nature do the heavy lifting when it comes to pest control—and if that means hiring thousands of tiny workers and one nosy cat, so be it 😂🐞✨
