Thursday, 9/29 – QO Financial Aid Information Night in the QOHS Auditorium with Ms. Beverly Coleman, director of the Educational Opportunity Center who has a wealth of information to share on the new FAFSA and the financial aid process. All are encouraged to attend.

Back to School Night - come early to shop for Spirit Wear and gently used AP Text books!
6:30 pm - PTSA meeting
7 pm - visit your child's teachers! Don't forget to ask your student for their schedule!

FRIDAY 9/16:
WHITE OUT!!!! Wear white to the football game! White shirts available at the Spirit Wear tables during BTSN and at the Shirt Shack during the game!

SATURDAY 9/17:
Band Yard Sale in front of the school - drop off gently used items 7 am - 9 am (there will be tax donation forms available) and come back from 9-1 to see what treasures you can find!

Be a part of your child’s high school experience, meet other engaged parents, and have a blast!!!

CONCESSION MANAGER – responsible for:
• Overseeing all Concessions for 3 seasons, Fall, Winter, Spring
• Managing Concession buildings and areas – initial season set up and cleaning, reporting damages/repairs needed, setup for every home Football game
• Managing Team Parents who will help open the Cave and run concessions for Soccer, Field Hockey, LAX, Basketball, Wrestling
• Food ordering – maintaining accurate inventory and reporting to Buyer what needs to be bought (includes grill items)
• Maintain communication with Buyer and Treasurer on items purchased
• Responsible for gathering and submitting the money from each game
• Ideally this person will be a non-working parent or someone who can take off every Friday afternoon there is a football game
You will have volunteers for every game to help you set up, sell and clean up – gathering volunteers is NOT one of the duties. We engage the students with SSL hours to help with initial cleanup of the Concessions areas.

BUYER (Concessions co-chair) – responsible for:
• Liaison with Pizza vendor on ordering, delivery and invoicing
• Liaison with Chick-Fil-A and Pretzel vendor on ordering, delivery and invoicing
• Places inventory orders at Sam’s Club using online ordering system
• Assists Concessions Chair with pickup of orders, stocking the locations and general set up

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR #2 –
• Works with current Volunteer coordinator to liaise with Team Parents and Club Parents to fill concessions volunteer slots
• Loads concessions needs into Sign Up Genius
• Communicates shortages of volunteers with Corresponding Secretary

FALL FUNDRAISER –
• Manage donations for silent auction during our Fall Fundraiser, HYPNOTIC EXPERIENCE.
• Set up and manage silent auction during the show (in November)

VICE PRESIDENT – responsible for:
• Backup for President at meetings
• supervising the following chair people:
o Concessions
o Membership
o Mulch Sale
o Spirit Wear

Saturday, 5/14 - It’s Academic CHAMPIONSHIP Round Taping at NBC Studios, contact Mr. Schuman for details or watch their playoff match at 10:30am on NBC!

QO's IT'S ACADEMIC TEAM IS IN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS this weekend! Come support your team (one of the top 3 teams in the DC area, out of 81 teams!!!) go for the GOLD at the It's Academic Championship taping at 10:45 Saturday May 14 at NBC4 studios at 4001 Nebraska Ave, NW. Please arrive a little early to get a good seat and support your It's Academic team!

If you can't make the live taping, be sure to tune in to the playoff match (previously taped) airing this Saturday May 14 at 10:30 am on NBC Channel 4.

QO Boosters will be selling plants at Kentlands Day tomorrow (Sat May 7) from 10-3, come out and support your school! The Marching Band Color Guard will be selling baked goodies as well! Don't forget Mom deserves flowers ans sweets for Mother's Day May 8!!!!
