It’s Superbloom season! This is one of our most popular wines because it is fun, vibrant, delicious, and exotic. The blend and methods change a bit every year, but it is always a Grenache led red/white co-ferment. This year it leans more heavily on Grenache Noir which gives it more color and bright red fruit. TBH, I kinda got annoyed with people always calling it a rose, so I leaned into it being more of a VERY light red. Other than that, it is the same philosophy: a zero zero wine (organic grapes, no additions, no filtration) and super duper clean. We have stepped up our game every year in the cellar to make this wine bulletproof without the use of sulfur. Ron Silva of Silvaspoons vineyard has been stepping up his game as well. Since converting to practicing organic at our request in 2022, he has made a huge transformation in the vineyard with two under the vine cultivators and the use of sheep in the vineyard. He also has goats roam in the winter and they are born in the vineyard. Last pic is a placenta I found! Ron’s fruit has helped us to make the Superbloom that speaks to us, we hope it speaks to you as well!

Slow fermentations freak me out a bit, but this same lot fermented in barrel and finished the job. Chenin from Norgard seems to ferment slower in egg and in barrel. So, I’m just watching this one tick away.

Here is a component of our 2025 Superbloom made from Silvaspoons Grenache picked at 19 brix. This is a zero zero wine that is mega clean. Zero Zero is a challenge that keeps us on our toes. It takes experience and intention to pull it off well. What we look for is a fast, complete and clean fermentation, we do not throw caution to the wind. This piece will be about a third of the blend.
