Celebrating Filipino American History Month with a little taste of home 🇵🇭❤️

There’s something so special about a local turo-turo spot! “Turo-turo” literally means “point-point” 👉🏽 is what a casual Filipino eatery is called where you simply point to the dishes you want and build your plate. 🍚🍗

Turo-turo spots are rooted in the tradition of carinderias, humble neighborhood eateries in the Philippines known for affordable, home-style meals. They became an important part of everyday Filipino food culture, especially for working communities.

And this spot has a sari-sari store too! 🛒🛍️ “Sari-sari” means “variety,” and small neighborhood shops like this are known for carrying a little bit of everything such as snacks, drinks, household essentials and Filipino favorites.

For Filipino Americans, places like these can feel like more than just somewhere to eat. They’re little pieces of home, culture, and memories 🥹🇵🇭❤️

🌿🍔 A little taste of Burger Week at BRU GARDENS!

Nestled among the trees, BRU GARDENS is such a beautiful spot to enjoy good food, cocktails, and a laid-back garden atmosphere.

For the Burger Week VIP Preview, I got to try the TB3 Burger with truffle aioli, applewood smoked bacon, St. Andre triple cream cheese, arugula and roasted cherry tomatoes 🍔🤤

And of course, I had to pair it with a Carajillo ☕️🥃 and their Lavender Lemon Drop 💜🍋

The setting, the cocktails, the burger… such a fun evening at BRU GARDENS. 🌿✨
