My name is Jessica Pico and I’m an artist living here in Gardiner. I am working on building websites and online shops, for now you can please just contact me directly through my Facebook if you see something that you’d like to purchase. You can find me on Facebook under Jessica Pico. I accept cash, Venmo, and Cashapp.

A little bit about me;

I have been an artist at heart since I can remember. Drawing Garfield comics in the 80s as a child is my earliest memory of loving art and it progressed to 4th grade me asking my teacher if I could set up an “art gallery” in the corner of the classroom to sell my drawings. They brought in a whopping nickel a piece and 9-year-old me was absolutely thrilled. At 12 I had my 1st gallery hanging for sale priced at $60 and I was ecstatic, that was like a hundred nickels at least. My adult art career was speckled mostly with freelance portraiture work and studying art at the university level in Las Vegas Nevada.
I have been a Gardiner resident off and on since 2007. I left in 2009 to move to Bozeman Montana and continue pursuit of my University Level education. In January of 2010 while downhill sledding with my children I wrecked (by myself) in an inner tube and this accident completely altered my life leaving me wheel chair bound with a crushed pelvis, broken neck, and broken spine. Montana State University misfiled my student loans into default while I was fighting for my life in the hospital and needless to say that was the end of school for me as I couldn’t face fighting the injustice the University had served me and trying to learn how to walk again as well. This is where jewelry making enters my life, to cope with pain and to redirect attention away from my inability to walk I began to teach myself beading, wire working, and general jewelry making. Focusing on seed bead work became cathartic against the throbbing pain and helped alleviate suffering and ease my mind of the fear of not being able to walk again. I completely immersed myself in art during this period and lost everything I owned including my townhome of 3 years and returned to Gardiner. Always a grateful heart I was extremely fortunate that I didn’t break an arm in this accident as I was able to crawl around my townhouse to care for myself and my children, and also extreme gratitude for not being a quadriplegic for my breaks in my spine and neck were a millimeter shy of that end result. Even more beautiful I never gave up fighting to regain my ability to walk again and one day I was finally able to walk cane free.
I am now a staff member at the Wonderland Café, working hard to pay off my fruitless student loan debt 🤣 and save to travel and adventure as much as possible with my children.
All of my jewelry is made from glass, gemstones, natural shells, high quality metals that are silver plated and gold plated, and even antique metals as well. Every piece you see pictured below is my own unique designs hand made by myself using a piece of my life, attention, and love. The gemstones used in my pieces have healing and protecting qualities and I use plated metals as oppose to pure metals because they are more durable and will last longer. All materials used are listed on the back of the handmade earing card that is also a bookmark. Earing wires are all hypoallergenic. The last twelve pictures with the earrings NOT mounted on bookmarks are a clearance special priced at $20 each. All others have a price beneath them written on the actual photo. Please Direct Message me (Jessica Pico) with a copy of a picture of what you are interested in and we can arrange a time and place to connect. A small sampling of my earrings are also available for purchase at the Wonderland Café and Lodge.

Hi everyone!

My name is Jess and I am the happy human behind Little Viking Art based here in Gardiner. With me you can get tote bags, tea towels, cards, stickers, zipper pouches, magnets and pins! Huzzah! My full collection of products are available on my website www.littlevikingart.com and I’m often adding more items. You can select local delivery when you check out and I’d be happy to drop your order off somewhere in town!

Besides that, there are a multitude of goodies available right now at the Tumbleweed Bookstore and Cafe, Wonderland Cafe & Lodge and Gardiner Market!

If you don’t already know the story of the Little Viking, to summarize, I’ve taken my mom’s art that she created in the 80s and 90s and digitally reproduced it for a new generation. When all is said and done, 100% of profits are donated to cancer research in my mom’s memory.

Thanks for keeping local Gardiner artists in mind for gift giving! Shopping small is more important than ever before. And I feel I speak for all of the local artists when I say there is so much heart behind each item you can get from us!

Virtual hugs, folks! Stay well!

Greetings Gardiner folks! Kintla Couture sales at last week's Christmas Artist Marketplace were beyond my expectations (thanks to all of you who stopped by to shop). Due to this outstanding support, I wont be able to host my booth tomorrow at the Gardiner Market. But don't fret, I will be supplying the Gardiner Market with more belts (new webbing designs too) and more wax wraps in the coming week(s). In the meantime, I have a few collars, stickers and one belt left. Follow #kintlacouture for updates and to place an order. Also, Kintla Couture belts and collars can be purchased at #danbaileysoutdoorco (aka the new Timber Trails) in Livingston, Montana. Stepping up for tomorrow's Gardiner Market Christmas Artist Marketplace will be Cari Flocchini with her handmade jewelry, bison tallow soap, salve, sun sticks and lotion. Be sure to check it out from 4-8pm. She will also be hosting her booth at the market on Saturday! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Gardiner!
Kintla Couture (your local dog collar dealer🐕) be introducing new products tomorrow night at the Gardiner Market from 3-8pm. We have belts and dog collars with art inspired by the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem including botanical prints, wolf tracks, and something for your favorite river rat- whether they have two legs, or four!! 🐕🐩🦮🐕‍🦺 All webbing and package artwork is my original design, buckles were also designed and hand sanded individually by me for a unique, rustic look. All products made in the USA and assembled locally. I will have some hand drawn stickers as well. You may recognize my art from the recent Gardiner Strong t-shirt and sticker (Gardiner Strong stickers are still available for sale at the market so make sure to pick one of those up tomorrow as well!!) I will be accepting Venmo (preferred), cash, and checks. Sorry no credit cards. Please remember to wear a mask when entering the Gardiner Market and I hope to see you tomorrow!! 🎄🎄🎄🎄
Can't believe it's been a year! Missing you all!! Always such a great time! We'll all be together again next year! In the meantime, if you're looking for pretty nails for the holidays, I have lots of stock on hand. stash.sparkleandshinewithschreck.com
